' It is now very unlikely that there will the united action on the prrt of the colonEes hi protesting against the German [protectorate m New Guinea, as differences exist as to the mode ot proceeding. South Australia has now definitely declined to join the proposed protest. Western Australia is unable to do so, as it is a Crown colony. Public meetings have been convened here and at other towns m support of the protest.
