Stewart, has started-for Gakduli and will reach that place on Thursday next. No opposition on the part of the Arabs is expected. LORD WOLSELEY'S PLAN. The following is the plan of operations as arranged by Lord Wolseley for the relief of Khartoum :— General Earle will collect his infantry at Hamek, and after punishing the murders of Colonel Stewart, will proceed to Abu Hamed to open the road across the desert northward to Korosko. The Mounted Infantry, Guards, and Camel Corps, march to-morrow to convey a train of camels with stores to convey a train of camels with stores to Gakdul (query, Jebel Gekdud), midway between Korti and Shemdy. Colonel Sir H. Stewart, with the Guards, will remain at Gakdul, while the Mounted Infantry and unladen camels return to Korti, where head-quarters rest. The Camel Corps, Artillery, and Hussars then proceed by the desert road, via Gadkul, to Shendy, and thence along the Nile to Khartoum.
