The Soap Factory.

We are sorry to learn that there is a probability of the Soap Factory Company being wound up. It is found that railway freight is almost prohibitive m the way of sending the manufactured article to distant markets. The Wellington merchants also have not accorded the enterprise the support it was expected they would, and other causes have operated against the successful development of the industry. Mr Bishop, the manager, is still as sanguine as ever of success attending the industry, but thinks steam power is necessary m order to work to better advantage. We trust that it will yet bo decided to carry ou operations.
