The acceptance of Black Rose for the Dunedin Cup will not be received'by the Jockey Club, as m the event of his winning they believe the owner of the second horse could claim the stakes also. Bbefton, Dec. 29. At the races on Saturday, m the District Plate, McGamn's Sincerity dropped dead twenty lengths from home, having burst a blood vessel. The jockey escaped. In the next race Philosopher fell after going a mile and broke his back, his rider receiving injuries which are thought to be serious. Both horses were valuable and well bred. The course was m good order so that Philosopher's fall is quite unaccountable.
