On. Saturday a number o£ teachers assembled m the Wanganui Boys' School to consider the question of the formation of a Teacher's Association. Mr Fenu occupied the chair, and explained the object of the meeting. Resolutions were passed deciding to form an Association, to be called " The Educational Institute of the District of Wanganui," to consist of one general society, and three branches for the Hawcra, Wangauui, and Hangitikei districts. Rules m connection with the Association were adopted from those of the North Canterbury Association, aud the subscription was fixed at 5s per annum. The following officers were elected — President, Mr Fenn ; Secretary, Mr Locke ; Treasurer, Mr D. Strachau ; Commijitee. Messrs Hoey and McDonald, and Messrs Brown, Watson, and Williamson. Mr Flood, pf Karere, was appointed delegate to the Council meeting of-' the' New Zealand Institute, held m Auckland m January.
