STEVENS AND GORTON'S REPORT.
At Awahuri on Friday 14th, about 100 head of cattle and 400 sheep were yarded, and at Bulls on tho 18th, 160 head of cattle and about 700 sheep. The bidding at both sales were rather dull but we were able to quit most of the stock at and after the sales at following rates : — Awahuri. — 2-yr steers, (rough) £2 6s ; 2£ to 3-yr steers, £3 6s ; 2-yr heifers, 35s to £2, mixed weaners, 21s ; mixed hoggets m wool, 9s 9d ; fat wethers, shorn, 10s Id. Balls.— 2- yr steers, £2 12s 6d ; 3-yr steers, £3 14s 6d ; forward bullocks, £5 ; yearling steers, £2 10s ; milch cows, £2 7s 6d to £4 : ewes and lambs, 11s 3d ; merinos rams, 2 guineas. The merino rams imported from Canterbury were of splendid quality and shewed grand fleeces of wool. The balance of those unsold will be shorn and put up at the ram fair m February next.
