FIRE.

At about 7.30 last night the firebell rang out an alarm. The locality was soon found to be in Fergusonstreet near the Square and on nearing the scene it could be distinguished as Rosenthal's house at the rear of the Scotch Church. The flames in a very short time completely enveloped the building which was gutted eventually nothing being saved. Captain Bentley with another member of the brigade arrived on the scene with the engine but could not do anything the fire having by that time eaten its way through the building. The house was a three-roomed one and covered with insurance in the Standard office for £75. Rosenthal loses everything, tools, wearing apparel, and furniture.
