The Secretary was inslnictßd to communicate with the settlers alongside the Maugoane stream requesting them to remove the timber front same. Mr Ryan waited on the Board re overflow of water on bis land caused by the logs falling into the drains. Resolved that Warden Mnthieson.be empowered to have repairs executed to extent of L 5. , Mr Kneels waited on the Board re repairs to Fitzht-rlwrt Main Road West. Resolved that the culvert be repaired near the Katarawa Stream the cost not to exceed £4. Resolved that application be invited from porsons willing to become rangers for wards, 1, 2, 3, & 6, and stating terms. - ■ Re amending Rating Act to enable local bodies to make their own valuation this year, the secretary wus instructed to draw up a petition and forward to Mr Maroarthur, M.H.R. Resolved that a sum not exceeding L 5 be expended on the BuunythorpeKairanga Road near Galloways section andrthat Mr Armstrong: be. authorized to visit the same and report to the Board as to cost. The following notices of motion were tabled by Warden Akers, 1, That the Boivrd consider the matter re the -capitalization of deferred payment lands at the next meeting. 2. That the Board consider the advisability of rescinding the resolution iv force m the matter referring to the exemption of the county, rate. The Board then adjourned.
