At the Bulls' R.M. Court on Thursday, -the case of Margaret Lan^9tone v. C. W. Langstone, late" of Bull*, now of Auckland, veterinary surge n was hoard. Complainant said that defendant • wilfully tails to provide his wife with adequate Means of su|»j»ort. Air Esam stated that at the sitting of the last court he applied to hit Worship for and obtained a warrant for the defendant's arrest., -which it was uuderstood had been effected Uy the police* authorities m Auckland, and defendant 'brought before the R.M. of that city, who made an order on defendant to contribute to the support of his wifn and then dis« chargi-d him from custody. It was expected defendant would have been, sent down from Auckland to Bulli, when other charges would have Iteen laid against him unJer the Destitute Persons Act. The police had not communicated with Mrs Langslone or her, solicitor. ■ The R.M .4»id that Supt. of Polio* m W.inganui waited on him aii<l inquired whether he would Im satisfied if the R.M. m Auckland 'made an order on defendant, to which he;replied that it was desirable that Lapgstone should be brought before the R.IVT. m Bulls and he (Mr Ward) was much surprised to fiqd that Langstone had beon discharged from, custoiy without bis having (>een consuited. , ■- ; A discussion ensued as to the validity or otherwise of the order mado by the Auckland Magistrate. Mr Esant stated that he would consult his client at the rising of the Court, and further address His Worship m wiitiug on the. subject. • .
