The debtor only attended, and was examined by the Deputy Assignee. The bankrupt stated he commenced business m Palmerston about three years ago m company with Mr Sinclair George, the latter receiving half profits. After two years' time I was compelled to compound with my creditors. At that time every thins; was assigned over to them, the creditors received Ids m cash, giving me a clean discharge. The bad debts amounted to £1600. When commencing business I had over £2000 worth of stock and cash. Since leaving Palmerstou business, I have lived on the farm, and worked it. I commenced with 600 sheep, 2 horses, and one cart, included m a bill of sale given to the Bank of Australasia. The bank's claim is £300. The value of these items at present is about £330, Rent owing when I filed, £127 15s lOd. Mary Manson is security to the Bank for the overdraft. E. W. Perkins, solicitor, made a olaim three months after I assigned to my creditors, for £34 ; I paid him £5, he sued for the balance, got judgment, and seized various articles belonging to Trustees of the late Peter Manson, excepting cart-horse and cart, and had them sold by auction. Kept no, books jof accounts since I assigned; Sold wool to R. J.- Baker for £77, and ..never received payment.
