Wellington, Friday Morning. Trade continues quiet, but we think on the whole with a somewhat better feeling than existed at the date of our last monthly report, though prices gane-, I rally of goods do not show much varia tion. Many people look forward to a more healthy state of trade m the immediate future, and we trust, at an early date, to be able to report a. favorable reaction, with an increased demand for goods generally. Corrugated irou has had good business, and we quote ex ship, £21 10s to £21 155, and from store £22 ; fencing wire, No. 6, is light of stock at £12 ; No. 7, £12. 55 ; and No. 8, £12 10s, with fair; sales ; barbed wire has small inquiry at £32 to£34, with stooks heavy. Kerosene*is"again~reduced m stock, and sales of 130 test are reported ai 1b 7d to Is Bd, duty pnid ; and for 150 test, Is 4d to Is sd, m bond. The demand for pol-. lard and bran of late has \been exceedingly brisk; stocks 'have become quite' exhausted, and rates have advanced to £5 15s and £5 respectively. Mai^e is also quite out of the market, but quoted to arrive at 5s 3d ; onions are steady at £16 for prime samples ; flour, £9 iOs to £10 ; oats have a tendency to advance, and rule from 2s 6J to 2s 8d ; wheat from 2a 6d to 33 ; barley, 2s 6J ; potatoes, m good demand, at £3; early flukes, £5; oatmeal, £12 10s; bacon and harris of prime cure, 9d, other qualities 4s to 6d ; cheese, 5d to s£d ; eggs," steady Is 4d ; fowls, 3s 9d ; ducks, 4s 6d ; turkeys, 9s 6d.
