New Year's Day Sports.
An adjourned committee meeting of the Palmerstnn Friendly Societies will be held this evening, to discuss matters m connection with the sports for next New Year's Day. Mr Linton, on ■whoßf^property the sport 5 * are usually held ' has, we understand, kindly promised to allow the ground to be ploughed up,aud we believe it is also ' intended to erect a large stand to seat visitors on the Terrace.
