The Political Position.
[Wanganui Herald."] A coalition between Sir Julius Vo«et and Major Atkinson has been sjvoken of. We cm only say that such a combination is the most un* likely of all even Is. It appears to us as a moral impossibility. What object is to be achieved 1; The Atkinson Ministry were defeated m the last Parliament, and appealed to the country. The countiy has now confirmed and registered that defeat. On what ground then is a coalition sought ? Is it that any large party approves the policy which has disgusted 'the colony r and intensified the depression ? Id ihe Property Tax to remain or not ? Are National Insurances and Federation to be taken up or placed on thie shelf. These and many questions show that a coalition is nofc'only impossible^Tjut ' that it implies a fraud on the people of New Zealand. There is only one course to be taken. Sir Julius Yogel commands the most numerous section of the Opposition, and will therefore be elected leader. He will have no difficulty m forming a strong Ministry at once and will immediately proceed 10 formulate and place his policy before the House and the country. Within three weeks from the present time a Yogel Ministry vill be m office.
