Shocking Suicide.
IP ' (UNITED PJttESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, July 7. A shocking ca.se of suicido was discovered here to-day. About a week ago a nian, aged about, sixty years, named John Beit leased a building m High street, stating he required ii. for storing samples. This morning the owner called for tho rent, but finding the inner door looked, his suspicion . was aroused, and ho informed tho police. A constable burst m the door, and found Beit's corpse laying on the floor of an inner room fully dressed, and a five chambered revolver m the right hand. A bullet wound was found on the right temple of the deceased, and the fact that only four of the chambeis of the revolver were loaded, showed that the unfortunate man shot himself. Deceased was a German, and came north four years ago from Westland. He wfls at the ThanieH until recently having been engaged as clerk to Ebrenfried Bros., brewers. Not known, if he has any relatives m the colony.
