It is announced that the Imperial Government invited the Australasian Colonies to contribute towards the expense to be^ incurred by the proposed extension of British rule m the Western Pacific. Cairo, June 26. The pilgrims who arrived at Assouan report that they left Khartoum on May 23rd and Berber June 6th. Both places were then safe and the Egyptian troops m full possession of the towns. Par ih, June 29 The outbreak of cholera at Marseilles has not as yet assumed a serious phase, ann the mortality from the disease is merely nominal.
