THE BOROUGH NOMINATIONS.

For No 1 Ward vhe nomination of Mr T. Wray is of course informal, he having a contract under the Borough Council for tke supply of dog-collars, and being on that account ineligible. The three other candidates will therefore be returned unopposed, viz., Messrs R. Henderson, L. G. West, and D. M. George, so that there will he no election for that Ward. For No. 2 Ward it is likely that Mr L. G. "West will elect to stand for No. 1 Ward, leaving \[e*sr.s F. Stratford, S. Abrahams, and C. G. Golville returned unopposed, thus obviating the necessity of an election for that Ward also. For No. 3 Ward Rtr Stratford will probably witbdi'aw, being nominated for No. 2 Ward, leaving Messrs Gk F. Hawkins, E. C. Larcouib, and 0. S. Gratton as the «».lectei representatives. For No. 4 Ward it is doubtful if Mr Sutton is eligible as a caudidate, as his being" a licensed career may be held to be considered m the light of a contract, which would render his nomination informal. In that case the return of Me^srit W. T. Wood, T. Manson, and A. Falloon would follow, which would probably also be the result of an electiou for that ward out of the four candidates at present nominated, were such to take place. It may therefore be assumed that the following will form the new council, viz: — Messrs B-. Henderson, L. G. West, D. M. George, F. Stratford, S. Abrahams, 0. G. Colvillo, G. F. Hawkins, E.G. Lnreoinb, C. S. Gatton, W. T. Wood, T. Manson, and A. Falloon, with his Worship the Mayor. This will probably be the constitution of the Ooiincil until the general election m September, when all will retire.
