He believed the assets to be taken over would be valuable and although a money difficulty would probably arise he had no doubt the members of the Board would find a satisfactory way out of such difficulties. Akus agreed with tho chairman on the matter. Warden Pratt objected to the application being granted m this instance. As the chairman had stated the erection of the gate might be to the advantage of the Board but m most cases they were used as a convenience to make use of the road lines as grazing paddocks*. It wa* proposed by the Chairman, seconded by Warden Alters aud carried — That tho application be granted. A similar application of Mr Coombes was considered and a resolution granting the same carried on the casting vote of iho chairman. Letter irom Mr Brady, Bnnnythorpe. re payment, of account. The secretary was authorized to write and inform him it would be paid when the Board is ia funds. A. deputation consisting of Messrs Cleavely, Rogers and another waited on the Board, re the special iare Bunuythorpe-Kaiianga Road. It was resolved that the consideration of this matter be gone into at the special meeting of the Board. Letter irom Mr Christensen re Stoney Creek Ko:td. Mr Irving waited on the Board m support of the letter and was informed that nothing could be done until the Board wan m funds. A similar reply was given to Mr Russell re the payment of his account. The Board then went into Committee.
