The conduct of the agitators has placed the movement beyond public sympathy. The committee on obnoiious trades resolved to request the Colonial Secretary to set apart 3000 acres as a site, aud remove the abattoirs there. Melboubnk, May 22, The Presbyterian Assembly are strongly opposing the Scots Church Bill. Labor is scarce m the provinces, and men cannot be had for rabbittrapping at remunerative rates. The Minister of Water Supply has expressed himself as disposed to encourage irrigation. Messrs Ellis and Mitchell, of Sydney, who purchased the steamer Albion from tho Union Steamship Company have refitted her, and on Wednesday she will commence trading between Sydney aud New Zealand, under the charge of Captain Lament, Wellington being the first port of call.
