We have bo report holding a verysuccessful sale of stock at Wanganui on Wednesday, 2 1st May, and althougli the weather was very unfavourable, it was numerously attended, and a large number of bidders vere. present. The entries, of sheep_ were 5 verylarge, but those of cattle were limited, owing to the ruling low prices. We succeeded m placing nearly all the sheep and all tke cattle except three cows- and calves were quitted. Beef lealisecf good prices, compared with late quotations, and values, for sheep are slightly improving. Cattle.— Fat cows brought fromL3 •10? to L 4 6s; 2 to 2£-y ear-old steers, L 3 10s; 18 month-old steers, L 2 Is: milkers, L' 3to L 5 10s! Sheep.— Fat wethers, 10s to 11s 9d ; fat ewes, 8s 6d ; ewes m lamb, 8s 6d ; lambs, 4s 6d j 2- tooth wethers, 7s 6d to 9s sd ; store ewes, 7a lOd to 7s lid. Pigs.— Bacon, 22s to 40s; good porkers, 15s to 20s.
