Caution to Footballists.
' A youDg man nain&l David Nicoll, residing at Kintyre Villa, Helens--bufgh, died under somewhat painful and peculiar circumstances. About a fortnight ago deceased, who was an ardent football player, was out playing m a match, when m a maul he got the middle finger of his right hand trodden upon. He treated the matter as of a very trivial character. A week afterwards he complained of a pain m his arm, and on the following Wednesday he experienced a a slight pain m Ihe jaws. He took medical advice, and was ordered to rest. The day following he was much •worse, when it was found that lockjaw had set m. The injured finger was amputated. He gradually grew •worse, and expired on Tuesday. Deceased was 22 years of age, and was a young man of much promise and greatly esteemed. Much sympathy ia felt for the relatives.
