Pel>ple| who talk of the fall m the value of land m New Zealand should vist Western Australia, if th'oy sincerely wish to loam what cheap laud really is. The Government of that colony are leasing land at the yearly rental of 10s per 1000 acres. The custom there is for a man to rent a million acres at a time. Hie leases are for ten years witli a right of renewal for a longer period at a small advance. A mail with £500 can rent 1,000,000 acres. Taxes are proportionately light. As the country proves to be well watered and excellent land, it is fast being taken up and stocked both with sheep and cattle. Very large sums are being invested m the country, chiefly by syndicates of wealthy men. The tide of immigration is fast flowing thither.
