Mr Rces will oppose Sir Julius Vogcl at all hazards for the East Coast seat. He is hostile to the Government. We remind the Foresters of the special summoned meeting this evening. We nre glad to see Mr Turner, of the Bank of Australasia, m more robust health since his trip to Australia. We learn that oats have risen considerably m market value, probably owing to the drought and scarcity of feed m Australia. The question of the disqualification of Billy-go-by 'em, so far as Wanganui is concerned, is to be definitely settled by the W.J.C. to-day. As a large number of people, chiefly country residents, have expressed their desire to signjthe Gillespie testimonial, its transmission to Feilding has been delayed for a day or two. Pastor Gaustad delivered a very interesting lecture last evening m the Town Hall on the subject of Spiritualism. The lecturer was well received.
