AFFAIRS IN TONQUIN.
Paris, May 11. Telegrams from Tonquin state that numerous skirmishes of late have taken place between the French troops and a large force of Annamese pirates culminating m a battle which extended over four days. The French were ultimately victorious and their loss is m considerable. It is. believed that the natives suffered heavily.
