Bush being dense, it> was decided to make for Mokau River, the more westerly route, and then make Ihe connection with the island route from Stiatford. It is easier. The weather ha* been fine, and Mr Mitchelson is favourably impressed with the country. There is a largo area of agricultural land, and coal is to be seen cropping out all along the proposed line.
