The Oriental Bank.
Suspension of Payment. (BY ELECTRIC TEtBGBAPH.— -OOPYBIOHT.) ( HBDTBR'S TELEGRAMS.) Sydnb*, May 5. The doors of the local branch of the Oriental Bank closed this morning and considerable anxiety prevails. The Corporation is liable for L 45,000 on a note circulation m this coiony and for about LI 14,000 to other Banks doing business m Sydney. Melbourne, May 5. It has transpired that; the Victorian Government has LI 50,000 on deposit with the Oriental Bank.
