The Timaru Tragedy.

Murder and Suicide. Further Particulars (united press association.) Timaeu, May 1. It ia reported m town that Garland, licensee of the Archwhenna Hotel, shot himself and his wife this morning. He is dead and his v/ifc dying. Jealousy is supposed to be the cause. Later. The tragedy was most shocking, the heads of both the deceased being shattered. It is supposed the wife was asleep at the time. Inspector Broliam found a letter addressed to him )>y Garland, stating that he done an unjust act to his wife «nd children ; and [ telling him (the Inspector) what property he had, and how to dispose of it. No direct cause is assigned for the deed. He leaves a family of four children, the eldest being about eight years of age.
