Pathetic Incident.
The was a very impressive incident of the L'ttle River collision, to which deserved prominence was given by the Rev, Robert Scott m his funeral address over Ihe remains of James Oraik, the driver of the passenger train. To state it m Mr Scott'a own words, ' Like the driver of the goods* train, who, with the grip of death, held m his hand the baton which told that the collision was not his fault, so our dear departed frien3, when found, held m hia hand the telegram which bore Bimilar testimony.' There is something very striking m. the circumstance of the two drivers holding thus m their hands to the last the evidenco that, whoever had blundered, thwy were doing their duty at their post m obedience to the official in* structions, of which they retained the proof.
