The Entertainment.
(TO THE EDITQB .OF THS STANDARD.) Sir,— 3 think "Play-Goer" m last night's paper blames the wrong, party somewhat. lam informed that the lessee of the Foresters' Hall -brought tho troupe here aud gives them so nirtch. If it is he who broke faith . with the public, and I must say it, was an outrageous thing' to do. It, was known all the afternoon that the . piece would not -be produced, yet it was duly announced and many paid for admission only to See it. ' Tho missing member was to have come by "the midday -train," it appears which was the excuse , given. This loft ample time to make other arrangements and announce them,: so that the public should not be deceived. Whatever reputation the company has will not be increased ih this way, but rather the reverse^ I should say. The audience were naturally very indignant at being "hud" so impudently, and really it ia not to bt wondpred at. I wonder they put up with it so quietly. ; — [• am &c, ■ ■ One op the Victims.
