'•■ • ] [Herald Correspondent.?] '\iZIC j Opunake, April 7. •Considerable seusafeien prevails throughout the district m consequence ofl a shocking-tragedy ' eriacted , last evening, m whicfi a half-caste named" Lbuisa Plumbridge murdered her two eons, aged seven arid nine respectively, by adnrinistiing poison, and committed suicide by the same- -means. The circumstances of this sad affair are as follows;:^-. On eveuipg the family, consisting- of Mrs Pliimbrictge, " /her two children and brother", werejßitr. , ting 1 at tea, when the latter observed something 'ataiiss with' the younger- boy, /and suggested that medical aid should be obtained, sA the child -appeared urrwell. Accordingly he left the house, but returned m about-half an hour, accompanied by Mr Layard, dispenser of the A.C.
