PRESS' ASSOCIATION.) '' '• Wellington, April 2. The annual meeting of the Wellington -Manawatu Railway Company was held to-day, ami was largely attended. The Report and Balauce Sheet wore adopted. The Chairman ,flaid 58| miles out of 83 miles were already under contract. The. remainder of the line was very easy and the total cost would be considerably- under the Engineer's original estimate, as a much better line than .the original Government one had been adopted. For 60 miles the ruling grade would be 1 m 100 instead of one m SO. G-reat credit was'due to Sir J. Yogel for the successful floating of shares and debentures m London. Messrs C. J. Johnston,,James jßull^TJames Smith, J. B. Harcourt were proposed as directors. '•Phe show of hands was m favor of Johnston and^ Smithy T. JK.. McD : onal4, J^ W. SteV^rispn, «: Kimbe^ i^d^Ca J& ' Powles were nominated as auditors. The show^of hands -was m favor of MeDo'nuld and Kimber. . A poll, was. demanded.
