A STRANGE STORY.
A coi-respondent m Devonshire writes :— 1 he inhabitants of Kingsbridge are considerably exercised ovor a case of the Edoch Arden type m that town. Some yeav;s agoa young woman of Kingsbridge was marrieil to ii sailor -named Lubraft.' lie went'W sea I ,' and hi« wife saw him nb 'move. Ifc was credibly reported that he had been drowned, and Mrs Lucrafb was regarded m the town as a -widov. Tlventaally a 'tradesman m the town named Burner paid his addresses to her, anil a short timo since Mr 3 Lucraft became Mrs Burner. A few clays ago, however, a stranger made his appearance m town, and calling upon the Kings'bridge tradesman revealed to him the fact that' he was the sailor, Lucraft. The subsequence conversation' seems to have been of an amicable character, for I Lucraft shortly afterwards left the town and Burner remains m quiet possession q£ his wife, * •'' '
