The attendance of Home and foriogu buyers was good, The bidding was spirited, and the prioos generally were slightly m favor of the buyers. Up to tbe present the •-arrivals have been three hundred and twelve thousand bales. Tho number available at the sales is two hundred and eighty one thousand. The first series of the year's colonial wool auctions opened to-day m the preseneeof a large pumber of Hume and foreign buyers, to whom k catalogue of 9200 bales was submitted. Fair competition was experienced foi\ the various lots ottered, but the closing prices of last _ auctions were barely maintained. The quantity of wool to be obe red during the sales is limited to 400,000 bales. The series will olose on the 19th March.
