SALE YARDS AT CHELTENHAM.
, iFeildinp Star.) What willundoubtedly prove a great boon .to the Kiwitea settlers has; been set on fodc by Mr Stewart, of the Cheltenham Hotel. • He has just erected near the hotel-very comniodiousandsul* stanlial cattle and sheep yards, capable "of holding several hundred cattle and a large number of sheep, and it is intended to hold periodical-sales of stock. Settlers at a. distant p^rt of the Kiwitea district will thus be saved the great inconvenience thoylnve hitherto suffered m the matter of a market for their stock. As it was they had either to keep their stock till someone happened to require them and came to take them away, or were under the necessity of bringing them on to Feilding, and selling them for what they would fetch, rather than being at' the trouble, expense, and loss of time m taking the animals back home. A great deal of this will now be obviated, and the yards cannot but be a great advantage to the farmers of Cheltenham and the Kiwitea geueral.y. At present it is proposed to holdthe sales quarterly, but should circumstances warrant it, they will probably beheld once a month. The ''first sale, of which due notice will be given, will be held about the middle of 1 the present month by Messrs Stevens j and Gorton, the well-known auctioneers, under whose management the sales cannot but prove successful.
