HARVEST IN THE SOUTH.

("Bruce Herald.) Harvesting operations have now begun m Tokomairiro. If the weather continues anything !ike favorable, we expect to see reapers and binders m full swing within the next week or ten dajs. We are glad to find that notwithstanding the unfavorable season so far, there is every prospect of the crops turning out exceedingly well. In particular, we ra ay mention that one field, m close proximity to the Milton Railway Station, is fully expected to yield 120 bushels of oats to the acre. Messrs James Smith, of Greenfield, and Begg Bros., of Hillend, have very extensive areas under cultivation this year. Their crops are reported to us as being the finest ever seen m the district.
