THE OLD DODGE.
A certain outside paper is again having I'ecourso to its very objectionable code of electioneering lactics which has rendered it so contemptible m the eyes of the community. It inserts letters apparently from outside sources, but leally written m its own sanctum, and doubtless inspired by the person m charge, with a view to damage the chances of political candidates with whom it is not on good terms. Two of these letters have recently ;; appeared, both evidently emanating from the same source. The electors will know how to treat such productions. It is tactics like these that have l-endered that newpsaper such an object of dislike and contempt wherever it circulates district. Many believe m the efficacy of the "wet shingle" vigorously applied, as the only reliable preventive m such cases. We may offer a suggestion or two as to its proper mode of application before long.
