The subject of reception of probation- ' ary ministers into full connexion -wjith the conference was then dealt with. The Revs. Dukes, T; N. Griffin, and Brooke have fulfilled their four years Qf probation, and - their cases were considered. The secretary of the board of examiners, the Rev. W. J. Williams, furnished the conference with a report ( of ; their examinations m theology, Greek, Latin, &c. m .each case the percentage of marks wai considered very satisfactory, ranging from, 86 to 62 per cent. The list of books which ha t beon read was oon^idered, and the oral e\a«>ination^-tixed for Tuesday morning. A conversation on the retirement of two probationary ministers m Otago, who have joined the Episcopal Church, occupied nearly an hojur. Very great dissatisfaction was expressed that the youug i»pn gought to /repudiate their financial obligations on account o£ their collegiate training. The further consideration of the matter was deferred. The miuisipfs spent a sjiort time together m prayer, and the : conference acijonrneJ at 1 o'clock.
