At our sale at Bulls q\\ January; 15, 243 head of cattle and £ver 1300 sheep were yarded. The attendance was large, and bidding much more spirited than we have seen it fora longtime, all the. pens of cattle, except two small ones, and -'every pen of sheep being sold under the hammer at satisfactory prices. The rates were as follows : — 3-year-old j 'steers, £3 15s to £5; yearling and l;8-mduth steers, ; _fronr £\ - 15s- to £2 "13s; 2-year-old , steers, ,£3 \7& 6d ! p mixed 18-month steers and heifers, £3 12s 6d jyearling.and 18-month heifers,---25s to 25s 6d ; wether hoggets, 7s 6d to 8s; ewe hoggets, 6s lid to 7s 8d; niixep) hoggets, ?sßd; store ewes, 7s 3d; fat wether*, 9s lOd to 11s; fat eves, 8s lOd to 9s 3d ; fat lambs, 6s 7d. v At 6ur Awahnri .sale on January 18, alx>nt IQO head of cattle i ai.d 500 sheep were, yarded.
