i BY TKLV(I!'AriI ) (united press association.) DunEdin, January 19. The Rev. Joseph Lon^, who has been for nearly tifty years a nnpister m this church has been superannuated by his own request. The increase of membership for the year is ninety. The Conference has just closed its sittings, and union and the committee has been re-" appointed. Auckland, January 17. At the Free Methodist Church Assembly, the ses ion to-day was occupied m debating the Rev. S. Mac--farlanu's motion approving of the proposed basis of union for the various sections of Methodism. -The debate was adjourned till to-morrow. The general tone was favorable to the motion. The Rev- M. Baxter spoke strongly against it.
