The increase of membership for the year is ninety. The Conference has just closed its sittings, and union and the committee has been re-" appointed. Auckland, January 17. At the Free Methodist Church Assembly, the ses ion to-day was occupied m debating the Rev. S. Mac--farlanu's motion approving of the proposed basis of union for the various sections of Methodism. -The debate was adjourned till to-morrow. The general tone was favorable to the motion. The Rev- M. Baxter spoke strongly against it.
