MADAME MOLLER'S CONCERT

Madame Moller' s Opera and Ballad Conceit opened last night to a passable house at the Foresters Hall. However good the performance, or however able the performers, the majority of people appear deterred from patronizing vocalist performance held m this hall, as *ey are to aware that its acoustic capabilities are wretchedly incomplete. Nevertheless, owing to the programme presented, which was of a very high class, the audience present appreciated tho efforts of the Company. Though the Company, is small it is complete. It consists of Mad. mho Moller (contralto) Miss Moller (soprano) : Mr F. Grey, (baritone) und Mr Elleiy Gilbert (soprano), just a full quartette necessary to give any clasa of music. Miss Moller is possessed of a sweet soprano|voice,ot excelent rauge. Her vocalisation was simply splendid and each song she sang was raptor jusly encored. Madame Moller, we have heard m earlier day.*: Then she hail a fine contralto voice: The ravages of time have now made their mark. Hernotes thoughsomewhatswaetly given, were not delivered so pure, us heretofore. Nevertheless she is a grand pianist, and the solos .she rendered were deservedly and rapturously encored. Mr Elleiy Gilbert, »s well-known m Palmerston, not ouly as a vocalist., but as a musician of great artistic taste. Last evening unfortunately he was suffering trom a severe cold, and his voice was not heard to advantage. He sings with considerable good taste, and as usual was happy m eliciting the sympathy of his audience. Mr Grey, possesses a good baritone voice, but it requires move cultivation. His " Wrecked and Saved" was very creditable. The following is the full programme : — Solo Piano, Madame Moiled ; Song, "The Vagabond" Mr F. W.
