An average supply met with a steady demand at the previous week's values. The entries for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday were more numerous than on the previous week. There Was steady competition throughout the sale, and with a few exceptions sales were effected to the satisfaction of the vendor, but there, was no alteration m quotations worthy of note. Wool ; The second sale of the series was held at the Durham Wool Loft on Monday.- The bidding was more spirited than at theprevioussale, and prices advanced. Longwool, 5d to ' s|d ; crbsij-bred, : 6d-to 7£d j merino, 8d to Bsd. Hides were of different jdescription, and sold at from 2d to 3d per lb. : ; pelts; 3d to lid each ; skins, 2s 2dA Cattle i There has been quite 'an average supply. The demand for dairy 1 stock' has been slack, but other descriptions have been m good demand. At '■ the Junction Yards, on Tuesday, there was an average muster : and, at Pulkekohe, on Wednesday, a large one. ! Dairy cows declined ip value fully 10s { p«C head. Stores sustained^their value * and there was an advance of £1 per • head m fat oxen, which !, Mv^nce, however, cows' did not participatejin. 'Sheep ( were yarded m less than usual numbers * and prices had a slightly upward ten- ' dency. „ Lambs were m adequate num- '■ bets and sold at from 7s 3d fo 14s 9d.
