THE THAMES. ( UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Thames, September 19. The hew Prince Imperial Company made an interim retorting to-day, at which 1 644f ozs ot gold were obtained from IBcwt ot specimens. The monthly clearing ap will take place on Saturday? The amalgam accumulated up to Mie end of last week was 2274' ozs. The fire m the Caledonian mine still continues, but the walla having been built m level, and the upcast shafts covered so as to exciuce supplies of air, it is slowly being smothered. Mines m the neighbourhood have been able to resume work, though on a limited scale.
