The Coming Comet.
It appears as if two comets were ar/i---tating the minds of European astronomers at the present. One of these is m the constellation of Draco—too far north foi southern observers. It is said to be faint, and slowly moving south . A message has been received by Mr Ellery, of the Melbourne Observatory^ from Kiel, m the North of Germany; which has recently been made thn head" quarters for the despatch of international astronomical telegrams, to the effect that another was travelling m the path of the great comet of 1882. As the position of the latter is not given, it is impossible to say whether it corresponds with. the one said to have been observed from Castle Point last week, and sub* sequently from Rangiora. Unfortja-r nately, the sky has been more or less overcast for the past week, and ob>servatipns have therefore been impos<sible.
