(UNITED PRESS iASSOCIATION. ) Auckland, September 8. The Annual Horse Parade waß held at the Ellerslie show grounds. There were fifteen entries. The attendance of the public was fair. Great interest was taken m the foot* ball match, Auckland v. Wellington. Betting was even. In a few cases the odds were m favour of Auckland. Crowds were around the newspaper offices awaiting the result. A proposal has been made m con" nection with the Auckland ' Freezing Company, to establish a line ot about eight grass farms, of 300 acres each, between Hawkes' Bay and Waikato, tv enable the driving of surplus slieep overland for export. N Hawera, September 8. A man named Murtagh Collins has been arrested at Stratford, charged with wounding working bullocks belonging to M.v Muiree, storekeeper. Tbe same bullocks twice came home wounded, and a constable was sent for, and secreted himself. On the third occasion shots were fired, the bullocks being wounded again, when the constable sprang out and arrested Colling, who was taken to New Plymouth.
