Our parliament.
The Christchurch Press has the following description of the present House : — •* But, speaking generally, it may be safely asserted that the present House contains a large number of men who appear to consider that they have been sent to Wellington for no other purpose I than to idle about the place and lounge ! m Bellamy's when business of the first importance to the country is passing m the House. We heard a great deal about the practical common sense and ! the steady working powers of the nonentities who were returned at the last general election ; but all observers agree m describing them as the most indolent and most incompetent sec of personages -who erer professed to repre> sent the people."
