A Special m Trouble.

L Herald Correspondent. J One of the "specials," the correspondent of a Taranaki paper, I understand, has got himself into hot water, m consequence of a series of articles' entitled <* w ellington m Session." These articles are after the style of "The Nights of London," and describe members being dragged out of questionable places at the witching hour, for the purpose of recording their votes. The correspondent m question was interviewed by the Sergeant-at-Arms, and interrogated on the point of authorship, but refused to admit himself the guilty party. The genial Sergeant appearod thoroughly satisfied with the young man's explanations, but, merely as a matter of form, requested the denial of authorship m writing. This was agreeably complied with. In the meantime a telegram signed with the awe inspring name of "" Mr Speaker" was flashed to the proprietor of the, paper publishing the articles m question. The result of the reply elicited was to the effect that the young gentleman who had denied his part m the little comedy was really the author of the articles complained of. This cruel game of checkmate will probably result m the exclusion of the literary embryo from the saored precincts of the House, as members of the House, no less than the occupiers of the press gallery, view his conduct m tne btrongest disapproval.
