It shows the 1 interest we all take m the matter, and I think it may be taken as a guarantee that the school will ba well appreciated, an 1 trust that the parents will assist their children all they can to enable them to derive as much benefit as possible from the school. Many of us have been rearing up onr families m ignorance for some few years, and have long felt; the^need of a school ; and I may state that could there have been a school heiie before that there would' be now many more settlers at Bunnythorpe than there are at present, for the simple 1 ; reason ;that; people would not come here to live because they could not -get their - children educated . ' We have had another drawback, and'that, unfortunately still remains, the had state of our roads; but X tr.us> Jbefore another winter sets m that great improvements will be made m that direction, as; all the : principal roads- are more or less m band j I have now^the hoDor of declaring jthe. school and I, with the Coin* mittea, wish Mr Walker, the teacher, every success." The Chairman then said : — • *\ yit Walker,'! am' afraid J thut for a few weeks some of the' children will •not be able to attend regularly on account of some of the roads being 1 m a very bad state, but when they dry up, I believe there will be a full attendance* . .
