The Waimare Plains.
fSawera Star.] We hear that a block of 7000 acres of bush land on the northern side of the Opunske-Stratford road, situated from four to seven miles from the latter place, has been surveyed into sections ready for sale. It would probably have been soheduled for sale shortly, but that owing to the new regulation requiring back pegs to be inserted having baen enforced, instructions have been given to carry it out on this block; as this part of the work has yet to be undertaken ifc may delay the sale. So tar as we can learn > the land is level and most of it is only lightly timbered, but it is of somewhat inferior quality. The rise is very giadual, but it is steady, and, though apparently one level plain to the 3ea, thib block is about 1500 feet above she sea. The survey has now iv several places been pushed right up to the forest •eserve, which is bounded by a circle Svibh a radius of six miles, the centre >eing the top of Mount Egmont, as ihown on the map.
