' " „'.. - Other Crs spoke as to the state of that part of Main Street. ,= yJWJMO l WORKS REPORT. 1 We, your Public* Works Committee, have the: honour to report that we have considered the Engineer's monthly statement, and we would recommend that the Council chould cause notices to fence tb be 1 sent to allpwners of property whose frontages abut upon a constructed footpath and 1 are unfenced. The ap* plication of Mr W. H Wylda, that a further portion of East Street be formed we cannot recommend the Council to accede to, at this season of the year, as we consider that any disturbance- to the natural surface would be detrimental at the present time. We would draw the attentien of the CoanjjiLto the work being performed by ttbe District Engineer at Terrace End, and would suggest that he be requested to fill up the useless drain alongside of Main-street and also have the road stuniped, m order to allow of cattle .being driven on the south side of tne railway.
