Dummyism m Otago.
VERDICT IN THE SUPREME COURT.
(By Telegraph.) (united press association.) Duxedin, July 24. 1 In the Supreme Court to«day Judge Wil.liams gave a decision m the case of Johnson v. the Otago Land Board. The motion was to compel the Board to issue a license for agricultural deferredpayment land at Strath Taieri. He said : Apart from the other questions raised m the case, lam of opinion that the defendants are entitled to succeed. I see no reason at all, moreover, for supposing that the Board, if they have grounds for suspeoting that a purchaser is not qualified under the provisions af the Act to take up land, or that the statements m the declaration are untrue, would not be justfied m making some inquiry on the point before issuing the license. Motion dismissed with coats.
