At an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Giar Meal preserving aud Freezing Company held m Wellington, the Chairman of Director (Mr DuTHiEj made a statement m reference to tue operations duiing tbe past half-year. In the course ot bis r, marks, Mr uuthie explained that the pronts during the past six months had oeen £5379 18s 9d, leaving, alter deductiu B interest at the rate of 8 per cent, on the amount due to Meb&rs Gear and Beale, a sum of £«3522 7s Id for distribution amongst the shareholders. This amount 'hau enabled the directors to declare a dividend at the rate if 12£ per cent, per aunum, aud to carry ior.vard tuts sum oi £2543 lbs lOd.
